Has there been a TSB issued for the 70mph while stopped speedometer problem? In a phone conversation with the service rep yesterday he indicated this would have to be covered with my extended warrentee, along with my NSBU problem.
thanks

I don't know of a bulletin about this but I have seen stuck speedos before. A new gauge cluster should fix it.

Ya, mine stuck also. Sometimes at 40 or 70 even at 90. Then all of a sudden, some days its at 0. Then it happens again. Wonder what other guages on that cluster are showing wrong???? Hope its not the fuel gauge !!!

GMCSID, are the dealers getting this fix pretty quick or does the truck need to sit there for a week or so? Should one go to the dealer shop and get it ordered first and when they get it, take the truck in to reduce the time the truck is in the shop?

When we replace a cluster we get the part number either with a Tech 2 or by pulling out the cluster then order it. We will call the customer back when it arrives, usually in 2 or 3 days.

Copy that. Are the orginal ones just bad and maybe it will work or maybe it will be doing what its doing to mine?

Really just lookin to see if this is covered under GMs 100K warrentee or if I have to pony up the $150 deductable on my extended warrentee. I thought I saw in some other thread that GM was covering it due to so many going bad.

The only way the cluster would be covered under the emmisions warranty would be if the ses light didn't work. The NSBU is covered under the emmisions warranty though. If you have low mileage the service manager may cover the cluster as a goodwill, you will have to ask about that.

So the cluster is covered...right? I dont have to fork over a dime for this to be fixed....right?

LATER!A cluster with speedo problems would be covered under the 3yr/36k. Not the 100k Duramax engine warranty or the emmisions warranty. If the cluster needed to be replaced because the SES light didn't work then it would be an emmisions related item and would be covered under the emmmisions warranty.

Hope I'm not hi-jacking this thread...On my '03 I've noticed my speedo to have jerky movement when cruising in the 50 to 65mph range. I tow a 5th wheel, and when climbing hills I watch the speedo alot and notice the jerking when decelerating or accelerating gradually. Needle jerk is fairly subtle, maybe a needle with or a tad more. It just seems to hang, then release. Just wondering if this is an indication of an impending problem or not???

Thanks
