open your scan tool and connect and click on the DVT tab then select your TCM as the desired controller. Once you have that click on the gear tab and select 4th

make sure you set the dvt enable/disable rpm limits too...

If your in 4th at WOT and your rpms climb above (or drop below) a certian range it will disable the DVT and go back to stock (persay). Its a built in safety feature

Its in the general tab in your TCM tune

Well actually the tranny will shit to Neutral and say on the DIC "range shift inhibit" or something like that and you have to stop and shift to Park then shift back to Drive... or maybe it was shut off the engine. cant remember, it's been a while since i have done that to my self :D

i was just lookin at my trans tune and mine is set to 4000 rpm in 4th and 5th bidi control disable. i hav the v1 and dont really want to use another license just to change those to dyno so i will just shut it down before 4000rpm.

whats u guys opinion should i do it this way or go ahead and use the license?

Huh... I know I was using it while driving around the city one day (doing 4 gear wots) and When it exceeded the rpm limit it would just disengage it and shift into 5th.

Maybe a 01LB7 is different, as I do not have a DIC

Do you guys also lock the torque converter with dvt when dynoing? Or just 4th and no converter lock?

hey bballer what do u think about what i said in post #12 needing some opinions

bballer182

Oh yeah... i would imagine unless you have a pulling tune set for high RPM's you will not even make it to 4000 RPM anyways. so i would say no on the license

unless you want to chnge something else in the tranny tune

thanks bballer the tune im running has the rev limiter set to 4500 but i dont know if that matters or not kinda new to the efi thing

The rev limiter may be set to 4500 but there are many other tables that will take your fuel earlier than that...

MAXXEDOUTlb7

it will rev to 4500 i hav changed all the limting tables so it will. so i think i will just make sure and shut it down before then
