I'm looking at doing a 4" lift now aswell. From what I have been reading Cognito is the way to go. As for tough country my buddy has a 6" and has issues with it. He is fairly rough on it but nothing stupid. I am not sure the issues but I know he has had to replace a parts on it.

Ive heard guys with 40,000+ miles on them and have zero problems. they seem like a pretty simple kit. i dont offroad or go mudding at all. its my daily driver and i tow with it every now and then for work.

i have the 6" lift and (knock on wood) haven't had any issues with the lift, i've got about 30,000 miles on it and i think my steering might be gettin alittle loose but from what I hear thats pretty common when you lift and put bigger tires on these trucks. i tow a 30' toyhauler behind mine and the only issue i have is alittle axel wrap, but still no MAJOR issues..

cant you put tractions bars to prevent the axle wrap?

you can buy traction bars or whatever they are called.. or new "lift" leaf spring packs that eliminate your lift block and also help eliminate the axel wrap.. i'm looking into that now actually..

i have the tuff country shocks on it still but am puttin fox on it in the near future.. the front is a little soft it seems, but it rides like a truck, i guess.. i don't have any complaints.. go for it!!

I have the TC 6" with zero problems and the truck rides better than stock.

take a good look at the Cognito. by the time you get all the needed steering upgrades with the TC you have about the same price as the Cognito. I just turned 50k and probably 40k of it on my 4-6 and its still just as strong as day 1.

I did the TC lift because of the least track width and love it. I added the cognito steering upgrades later and saved $ doing it that way. Pics in my garage.
