Has anyone had issues dealing with Buckstop?

02Mar05 - Rear bumper ordered over phone.
- Was told 2 1/2 weeks for delivery.

16Mar05 - No Bumper
- Sent email and left phone message asking about status, no reponse.

30Mar05 - No Bumper
- Sent email and left phone message asking about status.

Recieved:
The bumper is still about a week out. I wrote the order up for 2 1/2 weeks, but put it in the schedule at 4 weeks. My fault, sorry. We'll push it along as much sa possible.

Thanks!

Four weeks would be today, correct? When do you expect to have it done and shipped?

Response:
4 weeks is 4/2. We're about 2 weeks behind all the way around. Yours will be done about 10 days.

Thanks!

Not to be technical - if you look at the calendar, today, 3/30/05 is four weeks (28 days) from 3/2/2005, unless there are more than 7 days in week where you are from. You might want to try and keep your customers better informed - I had sent you and email on 3/16/05 and did not receive a response. I just don't like being promised one thing and after the fact find out it's not the case. From your website:

"Most importantly, BUCKSTOP™ is what you want in a company - a company that simply does things right, treats people right, and keeps business easy and fun - the way it should be."

I can't say that has been my experience thus far.

Response:
You may not have heard that we recently moved to a new location. Right now, I have 381 un-read e-mails in the inbox from the first part of March.
During the move, Verizon disabled the DSL line for a two week period of time in a botched up attempt at transeferring from the old location to the other.

Your e-mail is in there among the other 380.

Your bumper will be done in about 10 days. Keep in mind, you haven't been charged yet.

Thanks

I see that I have been charged for the rear bumper. Can you please provide tracking info?

Response:
Shipping out on Monday. We will send tracking after DHL picks it up.

Thanks!

Has anyone else had difficulties dealing with this company?

I ordered a rear bumper from them about mid February. After reading your post I called them and they say it shipped. Even had a tracking number for me. I am tired of driving around with no rear bumper and it has taken way to long to ship. I really hope it is worth it. He said it will take about 5 working days to ship to NJ.

I got this email from Buckstop today:

I didn't get the tracking number when the bumper shipped out and DHL has no way of finding it without that number. Unbelievable, I know. Anyway, it went out on Wednesday and should be to you by next Wednesday.

Even better - I then got this email awhile later in the day:

I just found out that the schedule was wrong. Your bumper has not shipped out yet. It has been at the powder coating company for almost 2 weeks now.
I expected it on Monday 4/11, but obviously that didn't happen. It should be here any day and we'll get it out right away. Sorry, for the delay.

Thanks!

WHAT A JOKE - I called and spoke to Dorian. He said they are growing so fast they don't know what's going on. I told him he should pay more attention to exsisting orders, like fulfilling them, before taking new orders. He said maybe a solution is to charge more money so not as many people order them. What a great business plan.

Unbelieveable - Have filed a complaint with BBB of Oregon as I can guarantee that I am not the only one that this is happening to since he said there are something like another 200 orders floating around. He said I could work for them, which is when I told him he couldn't afford me. I couldn't believe the next words out of his mouth - Since you're rich - why don't you buy another bumper. Gotta love people who can only get negative when they already no they are over thier heads.

I just want it here. My rear license plate is tied to my trailer hitch with no lights on it and I am just waiting for someone to run into the back of me with no bumper. Not to mention the wife bugging me when it will get here. One thing I noticed was the bumper was picked up by DHL from Salt Lake City Utah, not from Oregon. It should be here on Wednesday according to DHL.

I just ordered a front bumper. It took 3 to 4 weeks to get hold of them. They are still using the "we moved" excuse. I was told 7 weeks for delivery. I had a local shop order it for me and now I have found out they are trying to charge $45 to drill 2 holes for lights. The shop owner and I are confused since it states on their web site on the accessory page that "Customer mounted lights on top of bumper
no charge"

Seems like they are getting too big! I wish there was a different bumper that I liked as much. :(

Boy this is a thread I would have liked to come across 1 1/2 weeks ago. I ordered front and rear and was told it would be like 8weeks. Boy looking at how long it took you for your rear bumper it could be next year before I get both of mine.-:t If you can't fill the orders you have now why would you take more????

And to add insult to injury... this w/e on "Trucks", Stacy showed off a set of BuckStops, front and rear, he's putting on an older Dodge pickup. That'll stack up the orders and put them even further behind. Good ******in' Grief...

Well fellas... I hate to rain on your parade, but the people at DHL totaled my order and it took 3 months for them to pay the damages. Hope you guys have better luck than I did!

Mine showed up today. Ordered on 18 Feb. A little to long for my liking but worth the wait. It was wrapped up and packed very good. My only complaint is the lock and cover for the spare tire carrier will not work with the new bumper and a few of the rivets for the diamond plate were to long, but other wise I am very happy with it. I will try and post a picture later.

Took me an extra 2-3 weeks as well. Moving into a new place is a hassle in itself and trying to make business run smooth during the process is not easy.

it's worth the wait!

mike634 is that for the stock placement of the tire??

04-18-2005, 08:26 PM
mike634 is that for the stock placement of the tire?? No the tire is fine with the bumper. The stock bumper had a lock cylinder that was mounted in the bumper. This kept someone from cranking down and stealing the spare. The tube this lock sat in will not fit on the new bumper.

BBI saw that episode this weekend too. I've been planning on ordering a front bumper from them for the last month. I thought the same as you and will most likely hold off buying one:(

Latest...

I did get this from the guy the other day but am just getting to post in now...

Got this 15Apr05:

I'm sorry, if I came off as negative, but we're working our rears off here trying our hardest to do the right thing for hundreds of people. It's tough enough trying to get every single custom order right and on time, without a few certain individuals calling up telling us how were doing it all wrong.
It can't be all that wrong - this is the fastest growing bumper company in the nation with the best engineered and best priced products. Each bumper is hand built to a custom order. The growth is explosive - we're in the process of hiring more people and we just completed our second move of the entire operation to a new facility. We could easily hire any random cheap labor or outsource all of the work, but then you wouldn't want the product.
Rapid growth is extremely difficult manage.

I realize your order is very late and we've been cordial and apologetic all the way along. There were specific problems that delayed your order. Keep in mind as well, that this is a manufacturing company with a combined lead-time of 3 1/2 months from absolute start to finish on a product. It is extremely difficult to time things down to the day, let alone the week.
Now, go do the right thing.

Why would anyone ever say 2.5 weeks for an order when the entire process is 3.5 months according to him. I guess he would rather lie to people and string them along with b/s excuses until they call them out on it.

I really wish there was another bumper as good looking as this one cause I would have cancelled the order weeks ago.

NJDuramax,
All I can say is REUNEL......

Just my humble input. Mine was quoted 3 weeks, got it in 2.5 and they installed it in 4 hrs and I was done......

i ordered mine about a year ago, if you look on their site, it is the silver bumper on the white chevy. They had it already built so i didn't have to wait, they put it on the white truck to take pictures of it then took it off, thats the one i got, love it. It is now on my second truck. The only thing i wish they would do is Line-x it instead of powdercoating, at least if you wanted it that way.

DO a google on Bull Bars...

There are some australian companies that make a far superior and better looking product. some in aluminum some stainless... but I believe when I priced one out it was higher than Ruenel after shipping stateside...
I just decided to stay stock and many hundreds of dollars richer...

Well, it's on it's way - see email below. I think someone else mentioned it here - but it's shipping from Utah - ?? I know the company is in Oregon, so no wonder it's taking so long since they are, from what I can guess, having all of the paint/powder coating done in UT. I will post the pics once I have it on the truck...

Recieved 22Apr05...

Your bumper was shipped on DHL #25914633356 on Tuesday 4/19. Current tracking info shows a planned delivery date of 4/26.

Once again, I apologize for all the problems on your order. Thank you for your patience. I know the wait time is a drag and we're doing everything we can to increase production.

Thanks!

So the bumper finally got here on Monday - up to the rhino lining guys and I got it on the other day. It was worth the wait, and as I think someone already said - everything was packaged excellent. The pics are here:
