Ok guys (and gals if any), does the predator tuner create problems with starting for a 2002 LB7 engine? Does it create a lot of smoke at any settings level other than factory level? I am thinking that this is the best upgrade for the money since all out power is not my main concern. I plan on using this for towing a 37 foot fiver. Thanks in advance for any info.:)

Haven't heard of any no start problems.
120 tune will smoke from about 1/2 throttle. (Soot and the Tranny)
85 Tune will smoke at WOT.
65 Tune might puff once in a while.

Well as always, gauges would probably be a good idea.
You probably don't want to turn it much past the 85 setting period on a stock tranny, especially if towing. Others have commented that the LB7 Predator is an EGT monster to start with, so just be careful.
I can't comment on the LB7 for smoke, but my LLY on the "KILL" setting will make an intersection come to a stand still because they can't see the traffic lights any more.:D

for your consideration: we have both a Hot Juice and Predator that we use on our '02 LB7 at all times including when towing our 33' travel trailer ... for us the Juice on the 60 hp setting has proven to be the better of the two, in that it is very Allison friendly, delivers power when pulling (literally Rocky Mountain type pulling) at lower EGT's ... don't get me wrong, I really like the Predator and use it to monitor our truck's injectors and such

If you are going to pull that fiver up any hills or mountains, better watch those EGTs. In the 40 hp mode, the egts go up pretty fast and can reach 1400 on some of the hills in the Kerrville, Tx area when I`m pulling my 10,550# fiver. I don`t use the Pred. at all in the mountains.
