Just bought a used 2500HD. The headlights are a little out of whack and I can not figure how to adjust them. Any help would be appreciated.

Open hood and look for the little screw on top of light, right next to a "L" shaped pin. Take off the little black cover just below to uncover the threads. Now use a Torx and adjust the screw. Turn to adjust the light up or down.

I would drop a twenty on a good body shop to align properly.

Look down above the headlight and look for two gold or light silver colored 6 pointed screw heads. One should be located about 31/2" to 41/2" through a hole by the rubber hood stop. The other is about 1" down in a hole on the plastic radiator shield. You will need a T-15 Torx screwdriver.

The best way to adjust, I have found (IMO), is to find the longest, flattest, straitest, seldom travled road around you. River bottom roads are the best. Here in Missouri, I go to the Mississippi river bottoms on the gravel roads. They are table top flat and straight for miles.

At night park on the road and turn on your HIGH BEAMS. (You may want to turn on your flashers for safety.) Adjust the headlight beam so that it is at a 90* angle (up, down). Over adj. back and forth so you can see exactly where it's pointing. I find it if you put a coat or shirt over the headlight that you are NOT adjusting it makes it a lot easer. Get in the truck and double check each light separately so the look right and not aimed too high. When done the low beams will be adjusted properly.

Always adj. with the HIGH BEAMS when doing it this way, so that they are aimed right down the road. The low beams will fall into place.

Hope you have a real flat road around.

This works for me. :)
