With all the engine oils on the market many of which are synthetic then why not make synthetic Diesel too...? I know Bio-Diesel is the coming thing and seems to work good in our engines but what about oil companies developing a synthetic fuel too...?
to far fetched...?

Hyperfuels already makes a synthetic diesel. It actually has 63 cetane, but cost almost $10 a gallon delivered. You can google their website and check it out.

I was going to say its probably too costly. Since Diesel is a by product of the refining process for gasoline its much cheaper to make.

Yea figured it would be rather costly but for high performance Diesels it would be a big plus... Thanks for the info about Hyperfuels and did check out their site but they charge sales tax in TX...
