I know the bracket is marketed toward the AMSoil bypass filter, but it does work with oilguard.

Greg Landuyt aka landuytg (www.lubricationspecialistllc.com (http://www.lubricationspecialistllc.com)) said to use self drilling bolts. I was wondering if any of you have used the self drilling ones and then welded it to the frame? I plan on doing this for my Oilguard set up. The bracket will work I just have to put the filter were the frame starts turning up (that filter is gigantic). I can't do it further back, and that is why I will need to weld it becuase I won't be able to get nuts back there. Thanks for any advice.

Oh yeah -- I just drilled the holes to 3/8" and drilled one in the middle for the oilguard mount and it's done (at least that part).

Oh yeah -- I just drilled the holes to 3/8" and drilled one in the middle for the oilguard mount and it's done (at least that part). I'm not sure "self-drilling" bolts would get through the frame, but they would
on the body sheetmetal. Why cant you just use the OilGuard bracket? If you've
got a welder, I'm sure you could make the Landry mount work with the OilGuard
mount by welding them together.

I mounted my OilGuard to the cab floor (like some others here) and haven't had any noise issues.
However - I did also mount the Amsoil By-Pass to the frame. I have some pics
here (http://207.53.239.181/%7Eterry/truck/ByPass-Filters/)

good luck,

T.

1/4" drill screws will go right through the frame with no problem. They hold very well. No need to weld and you better be careful welding on the frame because of all the electronics.

Also, welding changes the temper of the frame. You DON"T want to do that!

Well -- I did it.

A BIG THANKS TO GREG LANDUYT FOR THE BYPASS BRACKET.

It worked out perfectly -- I did weld it to the frame though -- oops. I was just a little to nervous about not having nuts back there. Very very nice. No weird noises or anything.

You can get the bracket at the above address. I do recommend. It was very easy to drill the holes larger to 3/8, and drill that one more in the middle.

Rock On

As you can see Greg's bracket works great. It got it well out past the torsion bar in a nice place. Extremely stable, and NO weird noises. I would recommend this to all oilguard owners -- not to mention the market it is inteded -- AMS.

THANKS GREG!!!
