Good news!:ro)

Just got off the phone with my dealer, who advises me my truck has been built and is due for delivery on the 17th of April (Sunday?). He said it could also arrive as late as the 26th. While I'm happy that it is arriving a month ahead of time, (originally qouted May 11th delivery), I wish he could have narrowed the delivery time a little better. The 26th I'm going away for a couple of weeks and would sure like to break the new truck in on the trip.

I have my vin number to give to those who could track it. Dmax tim, Howard m18, I think you guys have done it in the past. Could you track it for me?

Thanks in advance!

DDD Mine took exactly 6 weeks from the day the dealer ordered it. Ordered on Friday Feb. 25 and it arrived on Friday April 8. Do you know the exact day it was ordered? Delivery time should be about the same as mine since we are almost in the same area. I am thrilled with mine. Just had pin stripes put on the sides with the little red GMC insignia at the tail end of the stripe.......looks great.

The dealer said the order was put in the evening of March 3rd, but it took two weeks before GM "picked up" my order. That would put my delivery around April 30th. If so, it will sit on the lot a couple of weeks because I won't be here.

DIESEL DAY DREAMING, I sent you a PM to work with you on the tracking of your "BABY." Your "BABY" will be sent to New Boston,Mi. (near Lansing) & sent from there by CSXT railroad. We can't access their site without registering & I have already checked into it. You will be able to follow by calling a #800 number, ONCE we get the r/road car#. Send me ONLY the last 8#'s of the vin.# & we will get started. Howard

The Dealer said it could come in tomorrow (Sunday), so you know I'll have to drive by and take a peak! The dealer is not open on Sunday so why would it be delivered then? Your guess is as good as mine. Who knows, I might just see it on the trailer waiting to be unloaded... Just can't wait!

Howard, I sent the info... PM me if you find anything out. Thanks!

DDD I think new vehicles are delivered 24/7. Keys and paperwork are put in a drop box. That is how it works at my dealers.

Well everyone, I'm taking a trip to the dealer today (this afternoon), with digital camera in hand (I feel like a paparazzi), to see if I can capture a peek of my new truck if it's there. If I manage to get some pics, You guys will have to give me a quick lesson on uploading pictures to this site. I load pics to ebay often, but I haven't seen how to do it here. Later...

For those wondering... The various stickers plastered all over the truck are all dated 04/08/05 with different time stamps. Is this the day it was assembled? If so, the last sticker, time wise was 14:48 Friday afternoon. And for those also wondering how long it took to get here... Nine days. Built 04/08/05, at dealer 04/17/05!

I am going with the majority of the parts dates as the build date, plus I remember when Howard told me my truck was built and those dates match up. Although, on some parts, such as the transfer case, axles, ect have a different build date for the obvious reasons.

DDD Congrats, Looks great. Now you be able to git er broke in before that trip. If your paper work is anything like mine was, you are going to have to add about 10 more (hear's). LOL Best of luck with your new truck. They are a blast.
