Noticed this right before winter but only went on for about a day or 2 and got real cold out and hasn't leaked till today. Both side and back of truck are spotted in oil spots so I looked underneath and there is oil on the side/rear of the trans.
This is on the driver side right and it covers all the linkage and the back portion of the pan. Anyone ever have this issue before with their trucks or something similar. Would like to fix it before I head back to school...

could be selector shaft seal or PTO cover gasket, usually don't see many pan leaks on 1k's

Is it pretty common for the selector shaft seal to go or what. Also how hard would it be to replace the selector seal or PTO cover gasket.
If pictures are needed I can go and take one to better show the area. I wiped it down and still can't find the leak...

Very common. With the proper tool, not bad at all. Without, you have to remove the valve body and shift shaft.

just remember if it is the selector shaft and you do it yourself, you have to properly adjust the NSBU switch, and linkage. The seal is not bad to change with the right tools.
