R/H door speaker has raspy buzz type distortion at very low volume only. Has anyone experienced it. Radio or speaker ???

Welcome to the site! In order for us to help you better we need you to fill out your signature stating vehicle year, make, model, etc. so we have some idea of what we are working with here.

Also, this info isn't needed in your signature but would be helpful in this thread. What is stock or aftermarket with your radio? Do you have the BOSE system.

is it a whine that elevates with the engine RPM? or is it just static? does the noise change? come from any other speakers?

Actually it is not engine related. With the engine off, and the stereo volume very low, it sounds like a bad speaker, (a raspy broken sound like the cone is shattered )but as you raise the volume you don't hear the distortion. If I could find the wires without tearing the door apart, I could try another speaker. Before I take it to the dealer I want to know what it is---the radio or the speaker. Sometimes there is a common problem that many of us experience due to a defect and that is what I was hoping to find out. I was able to remove the door panel at the bottom enough to feel the speaker connection last fall, but couldn't unplug it to get to the end to try another speaker. My warranty is up in a couple months and I want to get anything bad taken care of, but on something so small I am afraid they will say I'm imagining it and I want to go in being informed. Oops forgot to say only R/H door speaker.

Had you typed "door panel removal" in the search feature, picked the thread labeled "door speaker", third one on the list, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289828&highlight=door+panel+removal , there is the same link in post #16 (I know cause I put it there). Since you're new here, I didn't make you read the thread.

Yes this is a common problem I had a thread on this last month. I had two Silverados with same speaker in right front door. Yes your speaker is blown. If its under warranty have Dealer replace it, if not put in aftermarket. I used pioneer components now sounds the way it should have on a $40,000 truck. Unbelievably easy to install thanks to help from Dieselplace members. Thanks Guys!
