I have a 2004.5 2500hd with the lly duramax. I put an intake and 4" on it last weekend. i also have a ppe programer i run on level three. i moved the MAF senser and thats all we did to the truck. when i started it up after all that, i had no boast. i took my tune off and set the truck back to stock and i even went as far as to reset the computer by unhooking the battiers. at first the truck didn't smoke but after doing all that it started smoking a little bit but still no turbo. i took it down the road and all to sudden it took off and the turbo was back. the only thing is that every once in awhile the turbo would shut off and it would smoke that a train. i turned my MAF senser around thinking it might be that and i repeated what we did befor but now i have no turbo and it smokes a lot. i can get my rpms above 2000 and as long as i have road go as fast as that truck will let me. the weirdest thing of all is that no codes have been thrown. Does anyone have any ideas about what it might be??

i would try cleaning the maf sensor. you can by maf cleaner at an auto parts store.

what do you mean by "the turbo would shut off" It's not something that is really on or off.

it would stop building boost. its almost as if the veins would shut cutting the air going to the motor.

I would check the connections at your MAF Sensor. Its getting all the fuel in the world but its not seeing how much air its getting. That or you could have an intake leak as well.

You might have a innercooler boot off or a leak in the pipe- Check at the PS hose for wear.

Is the MAF sensor installed in the same diameter pipe on the new intake as it was on the old one?
