200 is not too hot, however if you are using the factory gauge, you may not be at 200. Is your fan running a lot. Before V2 installation, my fan would cycle on and off on flat ground @ 70mph when towing in the heat of the summer.

I am suprised you get to 217 with the V-2. Does the fan run at this temperture?

I need to change my sig. I can still get to 217 once in a while. The V2 fan runs on and off. My big fan runs on the very rare occasion. I think it ran twice last year in triple digit temps when I was rolling along against a big headwind. With my current setup EGT, speed limits, and the floor board are my limiters. :)

Cooling mods = V2 with fan and lower air dam. The stack is sealed, I have a CAI, LBZ mouthpiece, full 4" exhaust, no kitty, egr, or pcv to turbo.

I also have lots of other mods, body, fuel, programming, transmission, etc.

I have thrown the proverbial kitchen sink at this thing. The V2 with fan made the biggest differance. I bought the truck during "Employee pricing" and have since spent the balance in mods, it is the truck GM should have built.

LOL! I have never thought about it that way, but you're right. I've done the same thing! But, I sure like it now.......and my mileage has gone up significantly since all the mods, especially with the LBZ mouthpiece.

He runs a MONSTER trailer and huge power and big speeds, he puts far more heat out than any stock truck could ever dream of. Thats the peak temp he has seen since install nearly two years ago, not what he normally gets for temp.

Yep, this weekend smokin along with the rest of the "left lane" traffic in 80* weather I could only get to 200* ECT. I did see a little better fuel economy over last year, however I am not ready to say the MP did it until I get a little more time.
