Anybody know why I had to take my 08 3500 back on a recall for them to reprogram my computer.I asked the service advisor and he really didnt know.Anyone here know what this reprogram was for?

The service writer punches your VIN number into their computer, and if there is a recall, it shows up. They can read this to you, and IIRC, it should also be printed on the work order. Most likely it was the Passlock reprogram for a No-Start condition.

just had my 08 lmm in the shop today and had a reprogram done, i got a summary...1&2. updates to replace prev. released software, 3.pto remote time reduction,4.improved fuel (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295015&page=2#) level gauge response during key on fill up, 5.calibration improvements for water in fuel dtc's, 6&7. programs for improved dpf regen calibration,cold remote veh. start improvment.. adds glow plug wait time,and cold combustion noise reduction 8.EEPROM fix, for dtc's p062f,p0633,replaces previously released software. 9. new part nmber for software continuity. for a grand total of 9 updates all together! did not notice anything diff on the ride home.. but of course that was only 15 miles or so. maybe this will help with a little bit of info. :)

I posted this under the electronics section for the 4th gen. engines, the original post was "recall notice" maybe this willl help
