Here is my recently installed HD (Home Depot) boost gauge.

15 PSI 1/8" NPT rear mount $8.95 (cdn)
2-1/8NPTx1/4 compression fittings $3.80 (cdn)
4' of 1/4" polyflo tubing .40 (cdn)
Total $13.15 (CDN)+taxes

Seems to work good. No gauge light. I have a hard enough time staying on the road at night without looking at boost....

I have a lift pump pressure gauge in that spot on my truck!

I like it, i'm going to have to check and see what they have down here. I still have to put an Exhaust back pressure guage in.

Good job - remove the gage, carefully drill a 1/4" hole (or, two, or three) in the back, place a green, red, or blue hi-intensity led (or, two, or three) thru the hole(s), for some backliting.
Can RTV them in place

I would recommend the jcw version (it's backlit), as it is also a 30"vac gage - can be used to troubleshoot Boost problems where the safety of PCM vacuum control is desired.

Boost is great to see what is going on but the EGT is much more critical as far as I'm concerned.

I am looking for a small temp gauge right now.. Hoping to get one that is acceptable and free... I will put it under the Cargo Lite switch.

Yes i agree but if you get bigger exhaust and optic bump the EGT's should be low anyways .
I will be towing my holiday trailer soon and will be getting EGT then.
Thanks

Nice work!

I had a very lowbuck idea of using a digital tire gauge like you find in the checkout line at Autozone and some tubing. Carefully disassemble the gauge and attach the LCD to the back of an unused switch cover. Cut a hole large enough for the display and hook up the power to a fused connection. Run the line to the intake and voila!

OK, who's first?

That sounds like a pretty neat idea with very acurate results! Let us all know how it goes and what it looks like!

QM,

I sent you some information a while back on how to make something similar using LED lamps, a motorola pressure sensor and a LED driver. How far did you get with that?

I assimilated it into my thinking, it was a major influence in my LED as IAT sensor post.

CR, came with the truck. Dealer installed apparently after a PMD failure. Engine is rebuilt "gold" from DAS in Maple Ridge..B.C. Previous owner spent over 12K with DAS on this truck... + $2100 for a rebuilt tranny.. (straw that broke The camels back.)
Then he sold it to me as front end was worn out.

Cool, let some one else do the major work and pick it up for peanuts... lol
Maybe i should learn from that.
