I searched and found conflicting info. Will Bio-Diesel harm rubber lines? I have my Cat filter plumbed with rubber and I'm gonna try a little Bio. Would like to know if I can, seeing how Bio is cheaper than #2 in Phoenix.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif If not, what would be best ot rerun those lines with, Blue Parker stuff, some braided steel stuff from the local hot rod shop(or is it the same as the rgular rubber inside)?
And where to get the hoses if not those.
TIA

Brandon;
Bio will work fine on your truck. Just change fuel filters a couple times earlier after you start runnin BD. Your truck has synthetic instead of rubber (Viton) hoses, and gaskets. . . .

Guess they'll hafta go. What should I use to replace them?

Turbotug,
I have the same CAT filter setup with the rubber hose from the tank to the filter/pump.
It checks ok...and I have been running B20 and recently about 55 gallons of pure B100.
I am not an expert but the hoses are not pure rubber...exactly what not sure but the key thing to look for is swelling and softness....and eventually leaks.
By accident I spilled some B100 on a cheapo rubber floor matt in the garage...and the thing swelled up in the air where the B100 hit it. Amazing. It happened very quickly. So I would think if I had a problem I would be see it.
It is possible that the B100 will eventually force one to replace the hoses but you can run lower blends in there now with no problems.
Vitron is very very expensive and the only place I found it was at http://www.mcmaster.com/

Viton not Vitron. Thanks for the post. I have a nicktane coming soon and a lift pump. I intend to order some of these and I appreciate not having to do a time-consuming search.

Warren Johnson from Transfer Flow wrote about hoses and B20. He said Transfer Flow uses Gen II hoses made from FKM, which is supposed to be safe for biofuel.
He also stated that NBR hose---SAE J30 R7 or R6---will be subject to degradation by the biofuel, FWIW.
