I noticed that Titan Tanks advertises their tanks as being only for diesels. Does anybody know if I can install this tank on a gas powered truck? I have tuning software and my truck is emissions exempt, so that's not a problem. I just want to know if anyone has done this? Or does anyone know if the 8.1L fuel pump fits in the diesel tank's mounting flange? I dont want a transfer-flow as they are made of steel.
I called Transfer Flow and they did tell me the gas vs. diesel tanks are different, but he wouldn't say (didn't know) what exactly.
The guy at Titan Tanks also did not know if it would work. He just said "probably" but he didn't really know.

It should work just fine as long as it's a 2500 or bigger. The 1500hd's an 1500's frame is alittle bit shorter bringing the tank closer to the ground and/or giving it less protection. The titan comes with a couple of adapters for different fuel sending units. I'm guessing that it would be fine with the gas unit. Last time I seen the sending unit for the gas truck, it looked to be the same size as the diesels sending unit. It just had the fuel pump in it.

I found out that the mounting flanges for the diesel sender are different than for the gas fuel pump. So that means I'm getting a Transfer-Flow!

My buddy has an 03 2500HD with the 6.0L and it has a 45 gal. tank. I don't know what brand it was.

I could be wrong but I'd assume they have applications for all types of pickups...gas and diesel alike. But to be sure you would want to double check on that.

Like I said. They do have different mounting flanges that come with it. Mine did. Don't know which one if any would let you install the Gas sender.

They only market a product for diesels, they don't advertise anything for a gas engine.

Mine only came with one mounting flange when I bought it last year.

If I had my stuff here in Texas or I was in Alaska where my stuff is I would get the measurements for ya on the extra mounting flange that came with mine.
