O.K. short of sounding stupid I have read all the posts regarding the marker lamps on this sight and how to hook them up. I took a test light to the spade connectors on the ps fuse box and no juice w/ the lights on. So I thought Hmm maybe not getting a good ground off test light so I tried a voltmeter still no juice with the lights on and the prongs connected to the two spade connectors one being ground and the other hot. I read the post on hooking up the roof lights and where to tap in followed it to a tee. Still no juice. IS there something I am missing????????????? I just want to make sure before I go through the trouble of running the wires and Finding out I still dont have juice.

Next question about the red wire that exists in the wiring loom in the door for turn signals Where is that at??????

One more when you guys had your covers painted on your ttt mirrors did the ones that came with the lights come off and if so how im afraid of breaking them trying to figure this out on my own.

Thanks for the help in advancehttp://dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/help.gif

I don't think your 2002 has the red wire for the turn signals. I think it came out in 2003.

When your checking for juice do you have your parking lights on?

You mention hooking to the two spade connectors. Which two?

Just hook one end of your voltmeter to a good ground under the dash and then check the connectors with the other end of your voltmeter.

Not all connectors are power or ground on the new truck's sometimes their neutral.

I read the post on how to get power to the roof top marker lamps in that it states to check for power at the ps fuse panel bottom connector if you have marker lamps or bottom row of spade connectors center pin from left to right power should be the right or center connector going from left to right. SO I had the test light on what I thought was a good ground under the dash on a bolt not painted then tried some door bolts not painted no luck test light showed no power. So then I took the voltmeter and touched the two spade connectors left being ground and middle being power in the ps fuse box closest to the firewall. I do not have roof top marker lamps so there is a space where a factory plug would go with four spade connectors three in the bottom row one to the furthest upper right position. So on the bottom row of spades the center pin should be power with the one to the left of that ground. No luck so then I took the negative lead from the voltmeter and put it on a good ground with the positive lead on the center spade which should be power still no luck. I hope this explains it better

Well I'm not to familiar with the 2002 wiring as it's diffrent than my 2003. The 2003 don't have any place to hook into the pass side either and you have to run a new wire from the drivers side over to the pass side for the light.

If someone else dosen't come up with an answer for you then maybe do what I did and just run a new 16 guage wire over to the pass side, under the dash, and tie the two mirror lights together.

I am just looking for power for the lights and this is what was suggested by several people and from what I have read the 2002 should have this available I am not opposed to running a wire to the drivers side from the PS but I do not want the marker lights on all the time. I thought the 2002/2003 are the same. as far as the marker light power on PS thanks for the help anyway maybe someone else will chime in on this

Iccent,

Go to the fitting instructions (click link). The wire terminations start at step 31.

I have been to there website and from what I understand if you follow their instructions the marker lights are on all the time.

With the running lights turned on, that bottom center pin in the ps fuse panel should be hot; have you checked the fuse panel on the drivers side to see if there is a fuse installed or under the hood in the fuse box. There might be a fuse missing. Check to see that the fuses are good even for the trailer light harness because they might have the roof markers on that circuit.

I installed TTT with blinker and marker lights on my '02 a couple of months ago. I followed TTT installation instruction to a "T", except I ran 18 gauge wire. My marker lights come on only when the running lights are on.

I don't have mine handy at the moment, but take a look at your owners manual and there are at least two diagrams of the fuse boxes in there. Look for fuses that are marked running lamps, tail lights, turn signals, etc. and I think there is a fuse for the trailer running lights, brake lights, turn signals. One is in the ds fuse panel and the other is under the hood.

all right Im doing nothing but going in circles here I have checked the fuses everything that is plugged in is good What I need to know if there is a fuse missing somewhere what is it called and where is it. So out of frustration went to the stealer to have them reprogrammed I have everything working except the marker lights. Stealer tells me that the program for an 02 Silverado will not give them the option of reprogramming the door module for camper mirrors because they didnt come out until 03 how did you guys on an 02 get them reprogrammed??? stealer also told me this is why I do not have juice to the contacts on the ps and ds fuse panel I cant beleive that. SO SOMEONE JUMP IN HERE WHO KNOWS WHATS GOING ON PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lccent,

If you can't find it in the ps fuse panel then just tap off the headlight switch to run both sides, find the wire behind the switch that turn's hot when you put on the parking light's and tap into it.
The mirror lights are led's so there's no big amperage draw that the switch can't handle

Good Luck
