I asked a couple of local mechanics about a techII and setting TAP cells and they look at me like Im talkin another language. Is there another brand of machine or something that will also work for this task?

Then they weren't familiar with the Allison electronics and Tech II then. You might have to talk to a GM dealer mechanic they should know.

Tony you have the Quad tuner correct?

There is an option to reset the transmission. Technically I am not sure how that quad option compares to what the tech2 does, but I am sure it is worth a try.

I know when select that option, it shifts like holy hell for a few minutes then picks right up.

I also used that option when I was experiencein a constantly funky 2-3 shift.I selected fast learn and after learning the funk never came back.

If they have a tech 2 its an easy enough process to be walked through. Also if they have a snapon scanner it will do it to. Quad will do it at least partialy, duno exactly what the quad does but it does do something.

I do have the Quad. John at Suncoast told me to just reset the tap cell for 3-4 shift as that particular gear change with a hard hit is my only "full throttle" issue I have with the trans. Just trying to work with his recommendation to gitrdone. OR if anyone has a fullproof method to fix this another way. I dont want to drive around at full throttle all day to get the trans to relearn all shifts if its not necessary? But Im an Idiot. Sooo hop in lets go ):h

Quads thingy will be all or nothing as will a snapon scanner. You best bet is a tech 2
