OK, I will finally pickup my truck on monday. I have cool dual and LB7 downpipe along with some other goodies waiting for it. I know MBRP makes a muffler delete pipe for their singles but according to them, they do not make a muffler delete pipe for the duals and currently have no plans to make one. So my question, has anyone tried to come up with a bolt in solution to eliminate the muffler on the cool duals? I haven't opened the box or anything yet but could the insides of the muffler be removed to create a straight through system? Any idea's/thoughts welcome.:ro)

look at the mufflers and se if the inlet and outlet are about the same location on the muffler. this way you'll know whether or not a straight pipe will work. then go to a local muffler shop and purchase a pipe. maybe even put flanges on it. i don't know how it is connected now. if it is the 4" inlet and outlet on the mufflers, and are dead center of the muffler, then a 4" piece of pipe the same lenght of the muffler ought to work. jmo.

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't want a muffler with my duals either. I want it to sound as aggressive as my straight pipe.

Morning,

It can and has been done, you need a muffler delete from us that matches the material your exhaust is made from, 409 aluminized etc. You cut the "Y" off the MBRP muffler and weld in the delete after you measure it to the same length and cut it just like you did the original dual muffler.

If your going to have Mama DST and the little DST kiddies in the truck with you might I suggest you try it with the muffler first. I have the MBRP 4" cool duals minus the kitty, nice deep throaty sound IMHO. While accelerating I can't hear Mama JJ ( maybe I don't need that muffler ):h ). Once I'm up to cruising speeds, say above 50, the exhaust isn't as loud and we can have normal discussion. If I drive between 45-50 in OD there is a drone sound, just the LLY telling me to kick it in the a$$. :D

IIRC the LLY likes some backpressure. Guys running minus the cat/muffler are throwing codes IIRC. You may need the Fingers stick to avoid codes. I really do like the exhaust, it was my first performance exhaust so it took some getting used to. BTW, initial MPG gains of 1-2mpg on the interstate with the MBRP and E/J. Later. JJ :)
