This Batman routine is getting old. I have been climbing in from the passenger side for two days now. :help:

Started when I used the remote to open the door Monday night. Drivers side only pops about 3/4 of the way. Passenger side is fine. Tried the key (about 3/4 turn is all I get) as well as the lever from the inside - same thing, about 3/4 travel. Spent as much time as there was daylight yesterday evening spraying the linkages that I could see with lube and yanking on the horizontal linkages with the old, trusty and highly sophisticated bent coat hanger.

I'll pull out the manual tonight to see if there is a diagram so I can figure out a better place to apply some more force. Anyone have any insights they can share? From the looks of things, taking the inside skin off a closed door is not going to be much of an option. Or at least not a fun one.

Sounds more like Duke's of Hazzard to me:p: !! Anyways, does your window still go all the way up and down? Sometimes, some of the rivets inside the door get loose too and protrude into the path of moving parts. Got luck, let me know.

Thanks for the tip about the rivets. Window functions fine, that's how I am able to grab various pieces of linkage and yank. If I was dressed a bit more practically during the week I'd leave the window down and dive in!

Got home too late tonight to make use of any daylight and have a late night scheduled tomorrow - looks like more "Bo and Luke" for me for the next few days. (although I am getting very graceful getting in and out over the ctr console!)

I wanna see pics of that D60 when you get it in!

ok if the linkage in the door is starting to seize up when the door is locked if someone lifts up on the outside door handle the linkage stays partialy open then the door lock cant open so what i do is lock the doors with windows down then bang on door with fist (not hard enough to dent door) behind the door handle several times then try to unlock from inside of door do not lift up on door handle until lock button seemes to work properly just keep banging around door handle and trying the lock button

Update:

I visited Minisub and accepted the challenge. The clip that holds the top link onto the latch had fallen off into the mechanism. This jambed the the latch "locked". I fabbed a hook and pulled the latch clasp up from the top. Door not only opened, but functioned fine after that. I think MiniSub has a picture of the device.
