: question for those who have had injectors replaced
I just had mine replaced witk 70k miles. The dealer acted like hew was doing me a favor by fixing it. To me they made something faulty, added the 200k warranty, etc. They charged me the $100 deductabile for the repair. I know there is a $100 deductible on the 100k engine warranty but does it aqpply to this? I thought it was GMs screw up and that they were fixing it. Just wondering if this was right or not. Also the did the job and changed the oil and filter but not the fuel filter. I thought they were supposed to do this as part of the job or am I imagining things?
ratlover 04-13-2005, 12:13 PM I didnt get dinged for the deductable. I thought it didnt apply to the injectors? Also thought fuel filter was a part of the deal? Hopefully tech will chime in
Terrain Twister 04-13-2005, 12:15 PM According to my Tech (socaldieseltech), The filter is included. Don't know about the charge, but I wouldn't pay it!
st_pinetree 04-13-2005, 01:10 PM I paid the deductible, a week or so later, the dealer refunded it to me and sent a note saying that GM had waived the deductible.:ro)
neverenuf 04-13-2005, 01:27 PM I didn't get a new fuel filter, and didn't have to pay the deductable.
billbee 04-13-2005, 01:55 PM Refer to GM service bulletin # 04-06-04-007C (NOV.10,2004)
GM Document ID#1563951.
They owe you a fuel filter. I was never charged a deductible.
Assume they don't read service bulletins..?
dmaxalliTech 04-13-2005, 02:18 PM filter included, deductable waived on special policy for 01-02 injectors, regardless of mileage as long as under 200k
hd90rider 04-13-2005, 11:57 PM Also they will not cover the injectors in a new replacement engine. I had to buy a new motor at 282,000. Now that one has had an injector failure, but they say it isnt covered, even though it is a new engine. Thanks GM.
-:t
2003, 8 injectors, no deductable, new filter, oil changed, no problems/no charge. socaldieseltech knocked it out in no time.
depbubba 04-14-2005, 06:32 AM So fuel filter is included ?? Labor also I'm assuming...
And they are supposed to charge a deductable ??
I'm not sure I'm following... I had them replaced at 60K,
Paid for a new fuel filter, nothing else...
Thanks
Thanks for the reply with the bulletin number that shows that the filter is to be replaced. I have printed it out and will take it to the dealer. Also thanks for the info on the deductible. Where can I find this in writing so that I can take it to them. I already argued with them about it with no sucess.
Basically I already paid the $100 and need something to take up there so I can get it back. They were not going to give me my truck if I did not pay.
I just got off the phone with GM customer care. They said that there is no deductible and they put me on hold, called the dealer, and then told me I could go down and pick up my check. I was very impressed with their service. I hope the dealer is eating crow right now as I argued with him about this for several minutes and he insisted I must pay $100.
