I noticed my tranny makes a clunking type noise when shifting from park to drive first thing in the morning when it's really cold. This morning I warmed up the truck for about 10 minutes before leaving the house and it didn't do it. Should I be concerned??

yeah, mine does it too. I'm not concerned about it. Just to be safe, check your u-joints.

It just takes a second for cold thick fluid to get into the rotating clutch module when dropped into drive, same when going into reverse for C3 clutch. When trans is warmer you don't notice it because the fluid flows better when warm.

Thanks all....as soon as it warmed up from the below zero tems, the clunking stopped completely.
