This is the moment I've been waiting for. Rebuilt injectors installed. Will that horrible knocking sound go away? No. Censored . The knock is still there. This leaves me with with what I would guess is intake valve or wrist pin dammage. Which is most likely? Other than the knock it runs a lot smoother. Quieter too. It sound to me like the idle is lower than in was before. Mabee that's just because it's quieter.

I don't remember, but have you done a compression test? Is the knock a dull thud or a tick? Next place to check might be rocker arms, push rod and lifter for the cylinder that is noisy.:grd:

They pulled the valve cover and checked everything out. Told me there was a bad seal on one of the exhaust valves. No visible problems other than that. We never did do a compression test. Didn't have the right fittings. Not a ticking sound. It's a very noticable thud.

i have seen the roller lifters with big flat spots on the rollers make a pretty good knocking sound as it is wearing out the cam

I have seen the same thing with the roller lifters, but the ones I saw didn't hurt the cam, replaced bad lifter and never looked back.
