OK going to Alaska this summer and was wondering should I replace some things before hand? 110,000 miles 04 crew cab, injectors done at 90,000. Thinking about alternator and belt tensioner. Am I being to anal? Most of that trip you are close enough to a service center for service, but there are some areas that get pretty sparce. What ya think??

X2, chances are if the alt did crap out you should still be able to drive the truck until you reached civilization again. I drove my truck 3 days with a total of at least 200 miles with a bad alt and i had no issues.

I suggest that you check the weep hole in the waterpump -- At that mileage, probably a good idea to replace it anyway.
Other than that, have a good trip-- and get a copy of Milepost. This is a "BooK" published every year and tells you what to see, where to see it, where to fish, and what to watch out for. All listed by the road milepost. I spent 5 months thaveling around Alaska in 99. :D

If it was me, i would at least get the tensioner and a belt. You don't have to put them on, but bring them with you. Both can repalced on the side of the road with simple hand tools. Either way, its going to be way cheaper then a tow for something simple.
