And so it begins. Dropped the truck off last night to get it aligned (it pulled to the right severely) and to get one other issue resolved. The other issue was that between 50-60 mph (and especially uphill) the motor would stumble and hesitate. It would due this intermitently. Luckily the dealer was able to replicate the the condition. It seems that I have a sticky injector(s). They dumped a can of Stanadyne down into i and it seems to have fixed the problem. I authorized the tech to take the truck home for the night and see if all is well. The service writer says that after 7500 miles that it should go away. We will see. BTW, the truck has ~1000 miles on it. Censored My truck was built in February.

Well at least from what I know, injector problems rarely "heal up." But either way, you're covered under warranty, so don't sweat it.

While the warranty is nice, it still not right. The service writer blamed the diesel out here in Kalifornia. If that was the case, why don't the PSD and Dodges have the same issue? In my not so humble opinion it is just Censored engieering from GM.

Got the truck back tonight...
I had the following codes stored in the computer...
P0401-Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Flow Insufficient
P0404-Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance
The tech also wrote up that the injectors stick when hot. My Check Engine Light did not come on and my truck is bone stock :confuzeld
Also, I the dealer added a bottle od Standyne and gave me two more. I was told that I could come back for more during the first 6500 miles for more so that I could add a bottle every other tank. The dealer believes the stumble will go away after 6500 miles and that the Standyne should corrrect it for now. What is funny is that they still blame the quality of fuel out here.

doughboy, that is exaclty what my truck was doing, go and run the balance rates on the injectors and see how many of them are bad. Mine would stumble and sputter right around 50mph when the tranny was warm, it actually turned out to be around 1500 rpm. I had two injectors replaced. Eventually it will get worse, and then it will start to get a nasty compression/combustion knock. And it only has 7100 miles on it, and showed no signs of "Clearing up."

FYI...ford doesn't have the same injector set-up as GM...the dodges DO HAVE the same/similar set-up....and they ARE having similar problems.

The tech did check the balance rates and reported that they are within specification.
I did not know about the Dodges were having the same issue.
I think it is funny that Chevy is willing to hand out Stanadyne. My understanding is that the repair procedure is as follows...
First trip into the dealer, Stanadyne
Second trip, replace individual injectors
Third trip, replace all injectors.
Fourth trip....?
If it gets that far (I hope not) I'll Lemon Law it. Right now GMAC owns the truck, my sales tax, plates and GMPP. :deal:
