On our farm truck, its a 93 or 94 6.5 diesel, our mechanic has noticed that there is bubbles that come into the coolant resevouir when idling and when speeding the engine up the bubbles come faster. It also white smokes a lot at start up. Our mechanic thinks its a blown head gasket. i was wandering if anyone has ever had anything like this or if its a common problem. I dont know much on the 6.5's so any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Yep. It's either crack in head, block or the head gaskets pooched.

Sounds like tell tale signs of a blown head gasket or cracked heads. Make sure they use brand new head bolts when bolting it back down, as they are a one use TTY fastener.

Do both sides while it's apart. Replace rocker arm retainer buttons also. Fle-pro head gaskets are said to be the best for the 6.5.

all joking aside they are indeed one time use...despite the success of others, or what old manuals say...

Agreed Blue. TTY bolts are one time use. When i do a rebuild(i'm sure i'll blow my engine up just a matter of when) its getting ARP main and head studs. I hate TTY bolts.
