I changed my fuel filter 2 months ago and at the same time I load tested my batteries, but I didn't un hook them(dumb), ever since my truck has revved 200 rpm higher when highway cruising and seems to use a lot more fuel. I took it to the tranny shop and 500 hundred dollars later I had a new tps and it is still no better. They also checked the torque converter lockup clutch and said it was alright. Did I fry something electrical or is it just coincidence? Any ideas?????

Well, to start, what year, and model? Which transmission? Were any other changes made?
If you are going the same speed on the highway, and the motor is revving 200 rpm higher, something is slipping somewhere, or you are in a lower gear.

1993 6.2l. Not sure which trans. I didn't do anything else that day to cause this problem. The trans. shop swears that nothing is slipping. The oil is still like new. I pulled my camper this weekend and it semd to pull just fine even in a head wind. This whole thing has me baffled.

200 rpm tells me that the lockup isn't applying in the torque converter. You need to use a scanner to see if it is requesting lockup or not.
