: $5 on the line
You may remember my thread about my brother and his 2006 work truck and how the glow plug light doesn't come on in FL. His boss bet him $5 that the 2006 duramax doesn't have glow plugs. He said they have the southern version without them. He also said there is no plug to plug it in. Don't know if that was optional or not. Can someone give me a way to prove it has glow plugs so he collect his $5. This thread will probably get funny responses, maybe he can just print it and bring it to his boss tomorrow.
DrHolliday 02-23-2009, 07:54 PM Over the drivers side valve in the very back (firewall) over the fuel rail is a little metal box, its the glow plug control module. Also, on the front pass side of the motor where the boost tube comes up from the intercooler it connects to the intake air heater (big red wire goes to the top of it) why would it have an air heater if it doesn't have glow plugs?
And if you look under the coolant over flow tank (might need to take out the air box) you'll find where they tied up the plug for the block heater.
Pyscokev 02-23-2009, 10:00 PM I live in southern California, right by the coast, and I have glow plugs and a cord if it ever gets cold enough to plug in. Maybe down to 40 and then it's below freezing here :D

bballer182 02-25-2009, 09:22 PM me too. Kind of a gay site though. Lots of spelling errors and wrong information. However, the Duramax 7800 inline 6cyl does exist. It's an option in 45/55/65 series kodiak/topkick trucks
