Seriously considering 2006 w/32000mi. What known issues do the 06 trucks have, np transfer case rub?, Axel seals?etc. Any help appreciates guys. This one is a white gmc with rv graphics and an egt guage, so I'm trying to find out if an rv lot used it or just a nervous older rv guy. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

The usual steering clunk that doesn't seem to be able to be fixed. I took mine in to get fixed and it started doing it again within a week. the laking transmission lines also seem to be a common one. However those are the only problems I've had and they aren't major. It would be nice if the mileage could be a little better but it's still good. The only other thing you might find, depending on how you drive, is the rear tires seem to wear alot faster then the front for some reason! ;)

Same questions here! Good thread!!;)
Looking at an '07 with 40k. That is more mileage than I want, for that new of a truck, but I guess of the deal is right.... I know the 5yr/100,000mile warranty is there, but the 3/36,000 is gone.
What items do I need to look for that would not be covered under the 5/100,000, that would have been under the bumper to bumper. Cheap stuff I don't care about, just need to know the big hitters.

Looking at an '07 with 40k....
Depending on when it was originally purchased, it may actually be considered a 'low' miles unit--especially if it were put into service in '06.
I just purchased an '07 with 52K miles. She was purchased new in January '07, so the average monthly mileage is less than 2,100--which ain't bad.
Run a VIN check.

The '07 has the 5 year 100k miles Powertrain warranty, helped ease my decision to buy my 07 Classic that had 46k miles on it, bought it back in December...
You could also consider buying a warranty too...

I need to find someplace that will define the 5yr Powertrain warranty.
I had an lly and had many problems with it went to an lbz and have loved it since I got it. Tows my trailer like its not even there when the old one struggled.
