Hey Ive got a 94' 6.5L 3500 and the inlet side of my turbo seems to be getting pretty oily The oil is coming form the crankcase breather is there any way to fix this problem or is it just blow by that cant really be done anything with? I temporaraly put a filter style crankcase vent on it and bloked off the hole in the inlet tube will this be better or should i hook it back up the way it was? The truck burns about a gallon or so between oil changes.

I hate to say it, but that's what happened to me just before my engine blew. why you have so much oil in the inlet tube is because of blow-by the rings. there is no real fix except a total rebuild. If someone else begs the differ, please correct me. Just putting in my two cents.

Blowby is normal for a 6.5. Yes it does mean that the rings are getting tired but I wouldn't worry about it until something worse happens to the engine like head gaskets or such. The cdr is designed to pull a slight vac on the crankcase, reducing seal leakage, and burn off the blowby. Until it is blowing the dipstick up I wouldn't consider a rebuild for that alone....My $.02

lupey,
What about heavy blowing out of the oil filler tube. Is this normal?

The dipstick is yet another vent to the crankcase so yes its normal to have blowby there as well as the oil filler tube. Until its blowing the tube up off it's seat I wouldn't worry too much.
