DISREGARD. Figured it out. Help. I'm in the middle of replacing my OEM fuel filter with a Wix filter on my 07 2500 (LMM - new mode). The Wix website and postings here indicate that the Wix 33910 is the correct fuel filter, but it doesn't fit. Visually, it looks different in the 'top' than the original filter I just remove.

I've double checked the filter number printed on the filter, this website and the Wix site. Any insight out there?

I have the same fuel filter Wix 33910. I have not replace mine. Did you look at the top of lip and compare with those two? I am sure both are same.

I wanted to delete the posting but didn't see that option. It was my first fuel filter change and I made a rookie mistake. I'll share my slightly embarrassing story in the hopes others don't make the same error.

There are three gaskets on the filter. One small ring on the bottom for the water sensor / drain valve, one larger one at the top, and another small but fatter one in the center of the filter top. The first two were not installed on the filter. The third one was but was already installed on the filter but appeared to be part of the filter.

When I removed the original filter, the small fat center gasket stayed attached to the truck, not on the filter. When I tried to put the new filter on, the 'double' gasket (one on the truck and one on the filter) obviously made it impossible for the filter to attach to the truck. When I looked at the filter and truck for the fourth time I figured it out.

Very cool that you got it figured out fast. I did the same thing with the oil filter gasket on my last oil change. I only noticed when I had a gallon of fresh clean oil on the ground after starting the truck. :banghead: :confuzeld :duh:

Thanks for sharing so others can learn from it!
