Alright, now that I got the first 6 months of payments out of the way, it's time to spend more money. :ro)

I need objective opinions and comparison of the MBRP and ATS 304 stainless steel dual exhausts. I'll be installing the duals on a 2005 3500 CC Dually. I know allot of folks have the MBRP kit and seem to be happy with them, but I haven’t heard much about the ATS kit. Comparisons/Opinions on the fit and finish, install, frame/shock/spare tire/mud flap clearance, sound, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I intend on adding Bilstin shocks and air bags later on so I've been a bit concerned about some of the discussion on driver side exhaust clearance around shocks. Also, where should I go to get the best deal.

Thanks

I have the MBRP 4" aluminized cool duals with 5" tips. Kitty is gone as well. Nice deep rumble, turbo spools up quick, initial mpg increase of 1-2mpg though the E/J w/attitude may have helped to. I had a muffler shop do my install, turns out there was some minor cutting and welding. Bang up job and clearances are acceptable. I don't have airbags on my dually yet so no intel there.

Haven't seen much on the ATS system. Whichever you decide be sure to use one of our vendors. JJ :)

Jackpine,

We sell approx 35% duals to the Duramax crowd, having not installed the ATS I can't get you any specific infor there, but check out the reviews section of this site. There is a complete install and opinion of the MBRP duals there. That should get you all the info you might need. If not call us we are the USA's largest MBRP distributor and have had all the questions at least 1000 times and will be glad to help you.

The driver side pipe will melt your bilstein plastic blue cover if you don't do some serious adjustments. YOu can do it, it just takes some care to get everything in place. Since you can't move the shock you have to move the pipe. The duals weren't designed to be straight bolt on with anything other than oem. If you change any part of your truck you then will have to deal with what you get. The duals look great and sound great its just the oem truck never allowed for a second pipe on the drivers side so with aftermarket shocks with plastic covers you will need to use extra care. If you have anymore concerns feel free to call me and we can talk.

JJ, thanks for the feedback. I've considering the muffler shop install, yet not sure how to locate one that will put the care into the coustom install. I'm starting to think I should change the shocks and add the air bags first, and then the muffler install to insure it all fits. What ever I decide I do plan on using a supporting vendor.

Mark, thanks for pointing me to the review section to follow the install. got a better idea of the clearance issues.

John, thanks. Based on your comments I'm thinking I should install the cool duals after the shocks/air bags go on so that I don't have to retrofit. Problem is, I want to hear that new sweet sound now. BTW, any clearance issues with mud flaps that you know of?
