Just wondering if shocks or airbags make difference in the bumping associated with towing a 5ver. My dually didn't seem to bounce as much as this 2500hd.

jkp,

Goes without saying that you could run the 2 duals on lower air pressures than the singles on the 3/4 ton to bear the same load. That means MoRe BoUnCiNg dUe To StIfFeR SiDeWaLlS. It also means harsher/stiffer shocks if its 4x4.

Next to a 4x4 SRW, the 4x2 DRW is a caddy ride. The comfort, or lack there of, comes with the on/off road utility. All I can say is grin and bare it. Air bags are not the same as "air-ride". The ride would be stiffer yet, unless you ran them without air when empty (not recommended by manufacturer), which would then make no difference from what you have now. Shocks? As in air-shocks? Same difference as the bags. Air-Ride is a complete replacement for the leaf springs. Its more rugged but much smoother, and can be adjusted for your load, however you'll have to spit out $3,500-6,000.00 to get them put on (if even available for the 4x4).

8shot,

Are you using a gooseneck adapter or fifthwheel hitch. Just curious as some say the Airbags make more difference on the goose adapter.

If the "bounce" you are talking about is like the tires not staying on the pavement after bumps, mine was corrected with Bilstein shocks. Do a pricegrabber.com search and enjoy the ride.
