I would like to add the door trim that the 2500 trucks come with to my 3500 crew cab. Does anyone know if they just stick on with 3m tape or do they clip into holes in the sheet metal? I don't understand why GM doesn't put this on at the factory it helps with door dings and looks sharp. Has anyone done this if so how much for the trim?

I just ordered these from my GM dealer. My 3500 is dark blue, with a "Leer Cap" so it looks blah, soo dark. I'm also going to have a dual gold and white pin-stripe installed (painted on) front to rear just below the door windows, this should set it off and match our travel trailer. I have not installed them just yet. I measured from the deep crease in the side of the doors etc. on some new trucks at the dealer. Some are 2" down, some are 2-1/4" down. I plan to use a 2" wide masking tape from that crease as a guide.
The chrome seems to be metal, and has two 1/4" strips of 3-M adhesive on the back. I'm told that it must be warm, and the surface must be clean of wax, dirt etc.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Tanker, what did it run you for a set to do all four doors? I don't understand why GM doesn't put these on at the factory but then again I don't quite get why a $45k truck comes with painted steel rims either. Thanks
