Got check engine light the other day. Borrowed code reader from a neighbor and the only code stored was P0403. I did not clear it but light has since gone out. The truck has been blocked and fingered since 1500 miles. Now has 30,000 miles on it. Still under warranty. Should I take to dealer and if so, should I remove blocker plate and stick before hand. The stick is not hidden very well. Truck is running fine. Can the dealer void my warranty for this? Thanks in advance for your help.

IIRC the 403 code is one code the Finger stick doesn't prevent and it also means your EGR is acting up. If the CEL went off it means the error hasn't happened in a couple key cycles, if it comes back I'd think about going to the dealer or getting a tuner that can block the 403 code.
I really doubt the dealer would notice the blocker plate, but the finger stick I'm unsure, if its well hidden and blends in with the wiring harness it should be fine.

Guess I have a pretty cool dealer. I stopped to ask about the code and the blocker & stick. The tech and service writer said no problem to leave it in as long as they do not get any funky readings on computer. If so I will have to remove them and then they will fix. Warranty not a problem.
