:rant: Is there any way to stop the horn from honking when one sets the security alarm with the remote control? I don't need the horn honk to tell me the alarm is on: paying attention to which button I pressed on the controller will do just fine.

I can do it on my 04 by scrolling through the DIC with the steering wheel controls. If I remember right, you have to use the 2 buttons on the lower right side of the steering wheel.

Depends on what year your truck is and also if you have the DIC.

It's an 04 GMC Sierra 2500HD in the SLE version. I do not have the steering wheel controls. I sure hope there is still a way with mine. I did reset the auto door lock feature with some fine hitting of the brake pedal along with the gas pedal, etc. So I sure hope there is such a way to bypass the horn. Thanks for the information

I think the manual will have the instructions on doing it without the DIC.

I have DIC wheel controls so I've never looked into it much.
