Back in December I got a P2127 and P2138 code with "REDUCED ENGINE POWER", after talking with several people decided to try replacing throttle pedal assembly. That worked for about a day and a half then same thing. In the beginning it was just reduced power but would still rev, then it started going into limp and not revving over 2K. Spoke to tech at dealer and he said the ECM had to be reprogrammed when the pedals replaced so had that and about a million other updates programmed in Tuesday.

Well, that night on the way to work same deal. P2127 and P2138 and "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" along with limp. Its now to the point where I have to drive with my Predator plugged in to keep clearing the codes while driving just to get back and forth to work. (Programmer is NOT in now BTW, stock, just using to clear codes).

The tech that worked on it wont be back in til next Wednesday and this is killing me driving like this back and forth to work(lots of hills). I know about the TSB on the wiring harness chafe but checked it the best I could and cant see any external "electrical tape wrap" damage.

ANYBODY have a clue? I've searched and searched on here and cant find ANYTHING related to my problem. Can I replace the whole harness? The dealer gave my Part #15233968 and said its the throttle pedal sensor harness but doesnt show ANY local at any dealer OR even warehouse. Anyone know if its replaceable? I traced it from the pedal and it goes through the firewall just to the left of and under the brake pedal pushrod and is mounted to another plug on the firewall.

ANY questions, comments or advice are STRONGLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

On my 03' the dealer replaced the throttle pedal and throttle sensor when it went into limp mode. Not sure why you can't find one though.

Acutally I did replace the throttle pedal assembly which has the throttle pedal position sensor built in, still happening...

Thanks for replying though! I need more suggestions!

To the top, I have never heard of this either, I am interested to find out what the solution is though. Good luck!

I repaired a buddies wiring harness in his CTD just ran 3 new wires that were associated with APP1 sensor and it runs like a champ now. from the sounds of you defiantly have some shorted/broken wires.

i have had the issue just in front of ur fuse box under the hood is a wire loom remove the tape and ur top 2 wires will prolly be rubbed away like mine were simply wrap electrical tape where they rubbed and no more reduced power mode hope it helps

I just had a chafing problem too. It was also in the loom in front of the underhood fuse box. The thing that surprised me is that the electrical tape around the loom was not damaged or worn through, but a couple wires had been chafing and were worn under the tape. It was a different system fault, but I know that there can be worn wires even though the tape is not worn.

My 07 LBZ just out of the blue lost power. Wouldn't start so I had it towed to the stealer. It was a chafe on the drivers side next to the battery. It had 50K on it, cost me 300 bucks. That was the first thing that went wrong with it. What pissed me off, other than having to pay for it, was that I had just returned to town from the backside of mount St Helens. I was by myself in the middle of nowhere just one engine start earlier. Had it happened then, I would have been still walking.

if u have replaced the pedal assembly look just in front of th fuse box there is a loom of wires peel back the electrical tape and u should see the top three wires have rubbed, when they touch each other that kicks in ur reduced power on the dash... 3 dollar fix... take heatshrink or electrical tape wrapeach wire place back in loom wrap loom with fresh electrical tape...party on garth...no more reduced engine power

I'll have to check out my wire situation. Would hate to be stranded in a bad place or worse yet passin a stroke
