Been noticing that everyone seems to be getting into the diesel nitrous game. Which ones do you guys reccommend for the money. Basically - best bang for the buck.
I know SuperDiesel has a trick setup. I have also seen NEX and NOS IIRC. What are all you guys running.

Used a "universal kit" and modified it.
If I was going to buy another one, I'd look first at the Super Diesel one. The "big name" systems I've seen are just universal kits that they marked up double and glued a DIESEL sticker over the word universal.

Im Using A Jegs/nos Kit And It Seems To Work Fine. Im Sure Super Diesel's Nawwws Kit Is Just As Good As His Other Products Though ----------top Of The Line

Talk to Superdiesel. And if his "kit" isnt exactly what you are lloking for I'm sure he would alter it for you.

Yeah, but if I have never used or worked with nitrous how am I supposed to know what I'm looking for?

What exactly are you planning on doing with it? Going for as low of times as possible at the strip, bracket racing, driving like a fool on the street, dyno numbers?
How much fuel do you have? I think the LLY's are a bit fuel lite right now but you should set you kit up to grow down the road.
If I were to buy a "kit" I would buy SD's. The other "kits" are just relabled universal kits. NOS makes good stuff and has very helpfull folks. I have delt with NX briefly and decided I wouldnt give them any of my buisness.
N20 on a budget would be a bottle, a niod(either SD or NOS IMO), a NOSzel, a few pills(or you could use the orficed noszel and not mess with pills but then you would lose some tuning) , bottle brackets, line from the bottle to the noid(if cheap and not going over kill run -4, I'm running -6) with the adapter and fittings to get it into your noids(might need 90*'s or something) line from the noid to your noszeland stick the dude either in a SD manifold or tap you IC outlet or your manifold or get one of the air intake heater plug deals. Add some wiring and your spraying:ro) Or you can start getting elaborate and more expensive with multipul stages, ways of triggering it, heaters and remote openers.......you can add plenty of complexity and cost
A call to superdiesel would probably score you a "kit" that is built to your specs and he can help you pick out what you need.

So, nitrous kits on diesels are basically dry kits? That makes it very simple, doesn't it. I run a homemade dry shot on my LS1 F-body, but the computer adds additional fuel when it senses the nitrous flow through the MAF. Do the diesels have so much extra fuel in the chamber that no extra enrichment is necessary?

Wonder if we sprayed little through our MAF (as they do in the LS1 kits) if the puter will add some fuel (just curious)...

If you have a Tech II and a load cell dyno it should be easy to find out.
Have the tech II set to read main injection mm3, take the engine to 2000rpm and hold at full load, then spray the MAF sensor with anything cold.
I'd be surprised if changed the amount of fuel. I think the MAF on a diesel is used for timing and part throttle(sic) operation, but that's just a guess.

Yes its dry, if you are running programmers(especially the bigger ones, and or propane) you will have plenty of fuel in there to squirt some gas at

Thanks for the input - I kinda felt the SD would be the way to go. But if a less expensive kit would work I would try it. I would only use the N2o for sled pulls. I plan on stacking, lift pump, and n2o or w/m injection through the SD manifold (already installed.) When the times right I'll get ahold of Michael and get something set up.

You might talk to the sled pulling guys to see how they like it activated. I would think off of a switch held in you hand would be the best for that but I duno?
