How long will a code remain stored in the ECM? I had the SES light come on intermittently while pulling a trailer. It only happened going up a hill while accelerating hard. Not hard enough to cause a kick down but fast enought to pass. The light would come on and at the top of the hill when we leveled out it would go off. Happened twice and hasn't come on for about a week. Would like to get it scanned, just hope a code is there.

Code should stay even if the light is off. Overboost maybe? If you're going by here I can read it for you.

Thanks, I probably lost it already then. What is a good scan tool other than the Tech 2, thats available to the general public. For example, what will a predetor allow you to do that a snap-on scanner is not able to do. Are some vehicle specific but more indepth as opposed to a scanner that will do other makes and models.
