Hello- I am a new poster. I lurked a little bit and am impressed with what you guys know. My truck is an 01 Duramax dually 4x4 ext. cab. I bought it with 163,000 miles a year ago. It now has 194,000 and after a long road trip I realized my mileage was down as well as my acceleration. It is completely stock except for 238/85/16 BFG Mud terrains. I was thinking maybe the turbo stopped boosting because the truck runs perfectly otherwise. I am putting it in the shop tomorrow evening for this and a front end noise, but I wanted to see what you guys might think before I turn it in. Thanks!:)

When was the last fuel filter change?

I'm not saying this is your problem, but a buddy of mine recently had his injectors replaced and said afterward how he had forgotten how much power the truck had. It had slowly lost power and the new injectors brought it right back to life!

It's probably not the turbo. If you lost that, the truck would hardly run at all.
Check your oil and see if it smells like diesel - that could be where some of your fuel is going (and is a common symptom of an injector/s taking a dump).
Thanks. I changed all filters 5000 miles ago. No diesel smell in oil.

Congratulations on having a Dmax with 194,000 miles on it. Just for curiosity, you ought to have one of the techs run the VIN to see how she was treated.
Even if you need new injectors that will be one heck of a truck, (and you probably will get the injectors for $100.00. Not bad at all!)
Thanks for the replies. I actually know the original owner and the servicing dealer. The truck spent its life towing large brush chippers and stump grinders all over the state for an equipment dealer. They always serviced it when it was due. It better last another couple hundred as much as I'm paying for it:D.I'll still have them run the vin#. I do know that 5 injectors had to be replaced at around 120000. I know it's just a truck, but I really love it and felt bad leaving it today. When I get it back, I'm gonna get with you guys on juicing it up a little. I like the sound (pun not intended ) of running a straight pipe with a 4" exhaust and some kind of chip.
