So what lift do I need if I want 40" tires on a 2500hd 6.6 CrewCab 4x4?

Will Cognito's 12" lift safely do this? Or, do I need to go a totally different route?

Thanks

It could but thats a pretty large tire. Have you thought about a solid axle conversion?

not really. I might as well buy a Ford if I'm gonna go that route.

There are a few guys using 40's with the cognito 10-12... But i personally would run a 38" tire and keep it at 10"

My friend in town has a 12" Bulletproff lift on his 09 Chevy with 40" Toyo's with no issues.. So I believe it will clear the same with Cognito, but call them first to confirm. Another buddy of mine has a 08 Chevy with a 16" Full Throttle lift with 40's but his truck is insanely huge.

The Cognito can fit them. Will take some trimming.

No more in my name:p:...they are gone. I saw the light. They are great for pimped out crazy suspension set ups but just not what I wanted anymore. Can't beat the Chevy D-Max/Alli combo. That's just me personally, but just comes down to what you want out of your truck. He wants big lift and tires he is right.

Yeah you're right.....Fords are good for a crazy setup. Chevy seems to be more conventional. You can attain the size tires but you'll have to pay through the nose for it unless you went with another brand truck. Just the way it is. Or just run a 16" FTS or 3rd Coast Custom and have to deal with the huge box in the front.

You hit the nail on the head. That's why I went Chevy, otherwise...

I just want a nice lift that I can stick 40"s on with not to much problem.

I don't like the looks of the Full Throttle, i'd rather stick with Cognito if all I gotta do is trim. I'll look into BulletProof as well.

Thanks

Really if you could drop to 38's you would like the package better.

Do the 12" Cognito non torsion drop lift then, its the cleanest best riding lift out right now. You will need 5" of backspace clearance, and no bigger than a 12" wide wheel. Will look sick but run 38's its a better look than 40's.

for any lift that big i think that a solid axle is the best way to look good. i really dont like the look of an ifs 12'' kit looks questionable.

You can clear the 40's with the cognito. At full turn i have at least 4-5 inches of clearance from my fenders to my 38's. I will put 40's on next time.

Dude i have an 11 inch CST with 40 inch toyos on a 20x10 inch wheel. no rubbing at all so far ive taken it rolling around at the dunes a few times no problems. Sooo a 12 inch Cognito should be no problem

Drop your truck off at Nicks and do a solid axle conversion.

come on guys. SAS?

The truck is on order. They told me anywhere from 6-10 weeks.

No matter how good of an SAS, I don't think the Magnussen Law would help me out on this one.

Only thing they could void is the suspension...Motor, trans and all should still be covered. Only front end parts won't be covered.

Just do the SAC and be done with it. No head aches down the road or anything from larger tires on IFS

ive had a my truck for about a month and i'm gonna solid axle it, they can only void the suspension warranty which would be voided with an IFS lift anyway. big IFS lifts suck, the front end will wear out fast.
