This weekend I was driving my truck around in the country and my oil pressure pegged the gage at 120 psi. Earlier on in the night it was idling where it usually does and the oil pressure was just above the red marks and going down the road it was around 60 psi. Than when driving down the road it was up to 120 and idling around 60psi. This is all on a warm engine. The oil pressure gage was moving with engine rpm so it’s not stuck or anything. I changed the oil filter (WIX brand) and now it’s back to normal.

Is this a bad gage or something internal?

Stepper motor in the instrument pane4l.

Do a search for stepper motors, it is very comon on the 03's.

I just had to rreplace my Oil pressure and Speedo.

My oil pressure would stop at like 40 with the engine off, and peg out at 2500 rpm's.

Sometimes it will go back to normal, sometimes it won't.

You will see when you do the search. Also they are real easy to swap, just gotta have patience and a little knowhow.
