Hey guys, I have a LLY with the power pup programmer on it which was already on it when I bought it. I've played with it a little and had heard that the performance setting actually got better gas mileage than the tow/economy setting. Just wondering if anyone had one and knew which setting was best for everyday drivin. Thanks

Performance mode seems to be quite a bit better than the tow mode and the extreme mode. I think its because on extreme it smokes alot and smoke=raw fuel=lower mpg. I seem to average 17-18mpg on performance during highway drives, hand calculated; even though it says 20 or 21.

Thanks. I've done some research and is seems the bully dog is more for performance and doesn't really hit that much on improved fuel economy. I don't do any towing and just looking for power and better mpg. Would it be worth it to switch to the Predator or Hypertech programmer for everyday uses?

I have one and i usually run it on performance no matter what. the race mode is usually lessens my mpg but thats because i tend to put my foot in it.haha... I get an average of 18 mpg. I used to get 21 mpg but i put a leveling kit on and it dropped it down to 18. I have had no problems with the power pup and like it alot... good fuel mileage and lots of power when you put your foot into it.

Ok well now my power pup is acting up on me. just after i get done bragging on it, imagine that.lol... My truck has been sitting for a while and I went outside to crank it up and it was very clackety, and rough idling, and had more than the normal amount of blue smoke coming out. after it warmed up it ran like a champ. any suggestions on what the problem could be? maybe some sort of sensor??? thanks guys

Same issue on tune 1 it is very "clackety" i hope this is normal as i just got this tuner. Any thoughts. It doesnt seem to be as bad on tune 3 but i have stock trans and pull heavy all the time so i dont want to do that.

Yeah i haven't tried tune 1 or 3, just 2. But I talked to a bully dog technician and they said he didn't know what it could be off the top of his head and that he had the same problem last week and then one day it just stopped. he said it might be something as wierd as the season changing

Did you check for harness rub or have you done the ice pick method yet?
