GM's to bring out the D'Max in the '06 vans. I now have a Dodge Cummins w/ over 200K miles, and would get another in less than a hearbeat. But I need a van, and nobody puts that engine in a regular size van. So that leaves the Ford PS (6.0, lots of Ford factory buy-backs, and a less than stellar reputation), or the '06 GM van with the D'Max. On the other hand, when I read the various posts on this site, seems there's been a fair share of tranny problems, and a lot of injector replacements. Tough decision.

Who has driven one well past 100K to really know what it's like to live one that's well broken in? Service issues? Repairs? Maintenance? What does GM or Isuzu claim the engine and trans are good for in miles (more or less stock,un-bombed)?

Any longer term experience out there?

Thanks -

153,000 on the clock - injectors @148,000 - fuel, oil, filters, tires, and oh did I forget fuel? Ran it on the Dyno today - 261 HP and 450 trq - oh! I did change a few light bulbs... she is still bone stock..... ):h

on edit:Oh mine is a LB7 not an LLY - sorry if that was misleading..

i am sure that the factory overhaul time is at 200,000 miles for the duramax, the one going in the vans will probably not be backed by the allison, and it is for sure detuned compared to the one in the trucks. Not sure about the hp but i think it has 460 torque.

Broker -- must drive every minute of his life. Those numbers are truly outrageous.
