thank you
MBILLS 02-15-2009, 04:18 PM Way too over priced. You could get a new one from the dealer for that much. Lift kit and add-ons are worthless for resale value. If that guy were to trade that in the dealer would give him 23k for it. Dont offer much more than that.
rebelrider153 02-15-2009, 04:38 PM Ya the kbb is around 25000 I was thinking something in that neighborhood just because of such low miles
MBILLS 02-15-2009, 04:51 PM as strange as it may sound, ebay is a great place to look for current pricing on used trucks. Their pricing follows the trends in the market and they move quite a few trucks so it is a good tool to use for figuring out what they are worth. You could find a pretty good deal on there too if you are willing to buy sight unseen and have it shipped.
rebelrider153 02-15-2009, 05:00 PM Ya i did find a 06 with a 10" cognito and 40,000 miles for 27500 But that seems spendy too.
jettech 02-15-2009, 06:38 PM Too much.
rebelrider153 02-15-2009, 07:29 PM Too much.
So what price range should i be looking for? I would like a 06 with less than 25000 miles. And i would prefer one that is already lifted. looking on ebay and similar sights it seems that 04 05 models with 50-60000 are goen for around 25000 and anything newer seems to be 25-30 grand.
Thanks for all the input though!
Lonestar06 02-15-2009, 09:45 PM Just my opinion, but don't buy a lifted truck, you may be buying somebody else's problems. As others have already said, all the extras won't bring anything extra. Keep looking, buy a truck that you know who and how it was taken care of, and do the extras yourself.
DrHolliday 02-15-2009, 09:55 PM x2 on whats been said, go stock then make it the way you wan't it, I paid less for mine a year ago with 19,000 miles on it at the time. Another thing to keep in mind is I blew my trans running the edge witch he said he has, plus he has bigger tires witch make it even eiser to mess up the trans with added power.
jettech 02-15-2009, 09:59 PM kelly blue book came up with 29-31K for private party seller value and 23.2 -25.5 trade in value.I'd be shooting for something in between the 2 in this economy. If he ain't budging he ain't selling in my opinion.
Coolbreeze 02-15-2009, 10:39 PM x3 on buying a lifted truck especially with those tires he has on it. I would be of the strong opinon to leave a truck stock for any kind of decent towing. That guy is a definite bonehead for trying to sell that truck at $32K. I like the other folks suggestions. $26k to $27K would be my number. In reality a "modded truck" is always worth less because to most it says you were beating on it.
also check if the sell has tune or programmer installed. if you even the truck has low miles. dealer might void the warrenty on the truck. It is nice to have low mile truck but becareful with mod truck.

It has an edge chip on it.
I agree with this economy I dont think there are any diesels be sold really especially lifted ones that is the last thing most people want right now.
I would like to buy a pickup already lifted just because thats one less thing i have to do to it.
Is it common to blow up the allison? I was under the impression they are pretty bullet proof and it seems alot of people use chips with them.
Thanks for all the opinions though! I really was really thinking serious about that pickup. Now im thinking ill wait. any more opinions would be great
kjsman6 02-16-2009, 01:57 AM Just a bad combination when you add up the lift, bigger tires and programmer. All three of those can shorten the life of your tranny. The ally is tough but nothing is bullet proof, especially if he's running a high tune. I'm with everyone else, do your best to stay away from a truck with all the goodies just cause you don't want to have to do it yourself. Buy a stock truck with no tunes in the ecm and make it your own. Just my .02.
mgraveman 02-17-2009, 01:43 PM Too much money.
I was trying to sell mine at 26k with 42k miles on it and finally gave up. Granted, it's a WT interior. But I paid 34k for mine new. I'd think with the economy, I'd be looking at about 24-26k for what you want. Take your time and find someone who's desperate to sell.

You may want to double check that you can register a lifted truck initially. At least in one state that I am aware of, a vehicle must be returned to stock height to register/inspect. You can sell them all day long, but you can't register it as lifted.
Also, some folks cut corners doing lifts. My brother in law fixes them every work day of the week.
rebelrider153 02-18-2009, 12:23 AM Allright thanks. I emailed a bunch of dealerships today to see what they say. Ya im gettin too excited. I need to slow down and just wait for a good deal. Thanks for all the info!!! Im glad i got talked out of that truck the more i think about it.
ARbowhunter7 02-18-2009, 12:29 AM And that lift/tire size combo is rough. I know at least 5 guys running that setup (same 8" superlift with 38.5x15.50 tires, which is what those most likely are) and if you even hit a speedbump it scrubs so bad that it feels like it's gonna rip a quarter panel off. WAY overpriced, IMO, also.
That is more than I paid for a new lmm (2wd) but I could have got a 4wd for less than that.
Most who have lifted chevy/gmc also have alignment problems.

I wish that truck would bring 23k, i have an 07 like it but stock height, and the most ive got offered is 17k...
