Im thinking about upgrading the radio in my 02. I dont want to go big money, but I want a decent sounding system. Maybe one sub, new door speakers, headunit. Any suggestions? I would like a unit to play MP3s possibly one with internal storage. Changing to an 03 Dash is not out of the question if a decent DD radio is available. I dont need GPS or DVD, just music.

if you dont want anything more than mp3 i wouldnt change the dash

basically i would get a cd/mp3 player with a usb slot for thumb drives in single din

i like infinity speakers you could replace all speakers and a headunit for under 400 bucks if your shop around on ebay

i stay away from jvc and jensen

jensen is very low grade but a value if you don't have cash but want a dvd receiver

Im a big Pioneer man myself as I love the internal EQ's and all that stuff. I built a box (talk about a PITA to match airspace with no room) under my CC seat with a Solobarice L58 and Rockford cheater amp (older style). Sounds great for an 8" speaker. Its not gonna win no cometitions but thats not what Im after. I like clean crisp bass. Not that hodlum thumping shit. I got Cerwin Vega door speakers (3 way) that I absolutley love but I dont think they make em anymore. Ive had em in 3 trucks now. Infinity is a grat speaker also as mentioned above. Subs even Ive heard are great.

the ones i had that were junk were the jvc and jensen and the alpine wasnt great actually but it started giving me problems toward the end there till the car was gone.

the blaupunkt and panasonic actually where great units and had no problems with them also even though there not as popular as the other units
