On hold with diablo right now, hoping someone is taking calls...

My programmer had been working fine, but I reloaded my factory tune yesterday, which worked ok. I was in the process of adding the diablo tune today, but after backing up my stock tune, the diablo threw a script error, and I cannot do anything now. The truck is dead, can anyone help???

sounds like I may need to load the stock program with the Tech II...

I've had similar trouble with mine, all I did was repeat the loading and it worked. Have you tried that? It may take a couple of tries.

Don't know if this will help but I had a the same problem. In my case I wasn't paying attention to the fact I had the ignition in accessory when it should be in the "ON' location. Redid everything with it in correct ignition location and everything worked fine. Hope that helps.

Do you have a remote start or add on xm or anything else that could use data to communicate?

I have tried & retried several times. The unit attempts to load the stock tune back into the truck, which appears to work until it reaches 50% and then throws the "bad parameter" error.

No aftermarket acc, and do have the On-star and radio fuses pulled. My GM friend could not get a Tech II from the shop today since the guy with the parts room keys left for the day... Looks like it will be sitting until Monday.

Valuable lesson learned though... This would have really sucked had I tried to reprogram out in the middle of the mountains during hunting season, two hours away from the nearest GM dealer! I think I will keep my reprogramming during M-F normal business hours :(

So my buddy loaned me his "extra" vehicle... A beat up 94 or 95 green Astro Van with 150K :cool2: . But hey, it did get me home, but the wife was not real impressed.

All downloader style tuners can have this problem,I've had it happen to me and it sucks. You''ll need to remove your ECM and bring it to the dealer to be bench loaded.

I don't believe that you can load complete stock GM software to flash the ECM with a tech II,but I could be wrong.

The Predator actually rescued me when I had it happen. It was another brand tuner that stole my stock tune.

Loaded a new factory tune from the Tech II, and am now back on the road. We originally brought the PCM in to the shop for "bench" programming, but the dealer did not have the right equipment to do this. I took the tech II out to my truck to "gather" data (what was left of it!) from my PCM, then brought the Tech II back to the shop to have a factory tune loaded. One more trip (30 miles!) back to the truck to load the "new" program, and we are off and running!

I s/w Diablo, and have an RMA to exchange my predator. Sounds like this was a rare case for the pred, but lesson learned, these things can (and according to Murphy) will happen, and usually at the most inopportune time!

Special thanks to John Kennedy (who I purchased from) for his assistance in the initial trouble shooting!
