It's widely belived that Racor make's ALL the fuel filters for our trucks and then other manufacturers relabel them. I can't say for sure though.

That being said, I use Baldwin filters for all my filters, because they have a good reputation.

The new Baldwin part # for the new redisigned double pleet fuel filter is BF7827

And if you want extra protection you can add a secondary fuel filter like many on the web site have done.

Here is a excellent choice. http://www.nicktane.com/

I have the Nicktane, and I am VERY happy with the fit and finish of the product.

I second the nicktane...no "mega-air" filter issues and we get the dirt before it trashes our cheapo GM filters...

Step 1 - make sure you are using the newer style "dual pleat" OEM fuel filter.

Step 2 - then think about a supplemental. I am currently using a Racor R60S mounted on the frame rail. The Nicktane CAT filter will yield equivalent or superior results. The Mega filter is meant to be mounted in a different postion. You may or may not have a problem with trapped air and subsequent no-start issues with Mega filter. Kennedy claims he has improved upon the design and the no-start issues are past history (you would need to discuss this with him prior to purchase and I would get an "implied warranty" on this issue so you could return it if these no-start condition arise). Ignoring this issue, the Baldwin filter is most likely the superior filter, though not by much. The previoius is my opinion and will vary relative to others.

The NAPA stores in my area have several different price sheets. The price varries a lot from store to store. I only use them as a last resort. Later! Frank
