Someone Please help. Yesterday after driving 75 miles my truck stalled, I rolled off the street put in park turned the key fires right back up. drove about 1 mile more and died again, rolled into a parking lot and thats where she sat till the wrecker came today. I was reallly hoping that after she sat overniight and cooled off it would start up but not. The PMD was replaced 1-2 years ago on a SSdiesel heat sink in the bumper, the IP is 13 months old. I have fuel into the IP but not at the injectors. If I am correct this means either the PMD is bad or the IP is bad. I tried changing the PMD with the old PMD Ihad that when removed worked but had caused the stalling 1 time, I then remote mounted it and ordered a new one. SO I am not 100% certain that the old PMD is good. Any suggestions on determinig if it is the IP or the PMD? The SES light did not come on but I did not yet check the codes going to do that after I submit this. It just stopped as if somneone shut the key off which is what I had when the PMD went bad and when the IP when bad last time it ran rough for 2 days then started spiking to 4000 rpm. My bet is the PMD but I really dont want to throw more money at this truck. ANyone in the CIncinnati area have a spare PMD they can rent for a couple hours or min just to see if she even wants to act like starting?

Try plugging your spare directly into the truck harness, without
the extension cable - may just be a bad cable

X2
bad PMD cable has caused many problems, probly that or PMD.

check your grounds, lots of codes can be caused by electric problems. Several IP related codes there but check everything cheap first. Is the ground wire on the IP? Checklist might help a bunch as well.

all of the grounds are tight and clean. thats always first even if its a flat tire check the grounds.......Sure wish there was a way to check these damn PMDs or bypass them.

I have heard of a way that you can loosen and retighten the small bolts on the back of the PMD as a temperary fix. Be very carefull not to retighten to mutch. Hopfully someone will jump in with more knowledge on what the different codes indicate, but with a 13 month old IP I tend to doubt that it is the culprite. Where did you get it?

Other possibilitys could be ignition switch, fuses,Filter harness, broken wires, ect. The check list will help narrow it down
